I was an employee during the inception of Echo Malibu's "rein" as one of the only teen treatment centers in Malibu. Although the treatment to their clients is decent, they are very unethical in terms of their employees. When I was terminated there, nobody ever talked to me to tell me I was terminated. I was e-mailed saying that my schedule was being cut and that I would be notified of my new hours. That never happened! I have subsequently run into at least 6 former employees from Echo, many of them long term employees, who have had the same experience. I have a family to support and did not appreciate the way I was treated. When I tried to set up a meeting with the owner of the company, he did not show up for our scheduled appointment, nor would he return my phone calls. Are these the kinds of people who are teaching our youth about communication and recovery?
