Nintendo's virtual console has been quite a succes so far. I myself have downloaded a few classic games for it. Now Nintendo is planning to expand the service beyond old games. A while ago, they announced already that a remake of the C64 game "Impossible Mission" was coming to the Wii. Now they plan to release more new, downloadable games. This was a logical decision, of course, considering the succes of XBox Live Arcade.
Nintendo is also planning to act as a publisher for smaller game developers. Could be very promising, considering the Torque Game Engine now supports the Wii. This engine is one of the best 3D engines available for indie game developers, so perhaps lots of developers will be making downloadable Wii games!
